3. Connectedness

4. Purpose & Solution Orientation

5. Acceptance & Adaptation

6. Personal Responsibility

7. Realistic Optimism

  • Impulse control and Emotion regulation
  • Concentration ability
  • Endurance & Goal orientation
  • Media competence Environment and task-related competencies

Strengthening Resources & Systems

Orientation, Security, Comfort & Systems

Numerous studies and surveys suggest that young people can be mentally healthier, more satisfied, and more resilient when they are part of functional and strengthening systems. These should:

  • Enable / promote strengthening relationships, belonging, and affection
  • Contain clear structures and fair rules
  • Ensure psychological safety
  • Promote self-efficacy and experience of meaning
  • Allow trying out, discovering, contributing, making mistakes, and co-designing Include creativity & inspiration in the learning process
  • Promote individual development

WHY – our Vision
We strengthen young people in their resilience. Needs-based and sustainable.

  • Together with representatives of the economy, health promotion, and other partners, we develop effective programs that strengthen young people in their resilience.
  • We turn young people from those affected to participants – starting with a pilot resilience program for learners. This lays the foundation for expanding the offerings for other young people.
  • In a second step, the impact of the pilot program unfolds nationwide in Switzerland and includes other relevant systems – especially legal guardians, vocational trainers, instructors, mentors, etc.

Development & Implementation
Effectiveness is the goal. Participation and equality are the way.

A. Raising Awareness

  • Motivating and informing the target group: Topics resilience, mental health, self-leadership, reflective, positive media handling
  • Inclusion of other target groups (legal guardians, vocational trainers, instructors by agreement)

B. Involving

  • Designing effective offers (online / offline) together with learners (young people)
  • Inclusion of young people from secondary school, learners, and apprenticeship graduates / dropouts
  • Program development: Focus 3-4 years (including the integration of existing effective offers)
  • ….

C. Activating

Impact through:

  • Motto: Being allowed to try out instead of having to be able; shaping instead of enduring;
  • Promotion: Self-knowledge, self-acceptance, self-leadership – Resilience
  • Social incentives: strengthening others through one’s own behavior, e.g., “jogging” triggered a donation to “Velafrica”
  • Synergies: Using existing resources (e.g., Atélier du futur – Mobiliar and much more), Multipliers (e.g., KV Zürich), Media (e.g., TagesAnzeiger) and others
  • Creativity & Self-efficacy: Learners as podcasters; artists; consultants Mentoring: Young people as mentee & mentor (role reversal)
  • Campaigning: Communication in the (social) media

D. Multiplying

  • Concept for spreading from the target group of the pilot project to other affected individuals (Students at gymnasiums; vocational students from all over Switzerland; young people from precarious circumstances etc.)
  • Enhanced integration of relevant target groups (with a focus on legal guardians; primary school etc.)
